Australian Pearls Shine In 3×3 At INAS Global Games

The Australian Pearls shined at the INAS Global Games last weekend, winning silver and bronze in the 3×3 basketball tournament.
Australia had two teams competing in 3×3 event at the INAS Global Games, with Pearl Gold winning a silver medal after a one-point loss to Japan in the gold medal game, while Pearl Green clinched the bronze medal against the highly-fancied French team.
“The 3×3 format is expanding in popularity around the world with many World Championships now playing this exciting format of the game we love,” Pearls team manager Sally Duncan said, via Basketball Australia.
“The rules for 3×3 make the game very fast, very physical and really exciting as a spectator sport.”
The Australian men won silver in the five-on-five basketball tournament.
The INAS Global Games is a world-class sporting competition for elite athletes with an intellectual impairment that represents the peak of sporting achievement.
