3x3Hustle to continue growth in NSW with Basketball NSW partnership
3x3Hustle will continue to grow the sport of 3×3 basketball in NSW after partnering with Basketball NSW.
As the governing body for basketball in New South Wales, it is their aim to grow, develop and promote 3×3 by supporting its members, stakeholders and the basketball family to learn more about the game and have more opportunities to play in the new exciting Olympic discipline across NSW.
With a host of high standard facilities such as Sutherland Basketball Stadium, West Wyalong Stadium, Hills Basketball Stadium and Port Macquarie Indoor Sports Stadium, New South Wales’ next generation of 3×3 basketball stars will have a memorable experience at Basketball NSW Street Hustle and Big Hustle events.
Basketball NSW CEO Maria Nordstrom said the organisation is looking forward to growing 3×3 basketball in NSW by partnering with 3x3Hustle.
“We are excited about our new partnership with the NBL and 3x3Hustle,” she said.
“3x3Hustle makes it affordable for participants to engage and participate in the Olympic sport of 3×3 basketball.
“This new plan is strongly aligned to our growth focus over the next four years and our aim to have 100,000 member participants by 2025.”
Basketball NSW is also thrilled to be able to provide a full pathway for up-and-coming 3×3 basketball players in both metropolitan and regional areas of the state.
“The 3×3 pathway in NSW will provide regional qualifiers, which will culminate in a state-based final, known as 3×3 Big Hustle NSW,” Nordstrom added.
“The winners from 3×3 Big Hustle NSW can then proceed to play in the National Finals, which will continue to be run by 3x3Hustle.
“The regional and metropolitan qualifiers will be increased over the next one to two years to make it more accessible for participants in each region and Greater Sydney.”
Keep an eye on the events page on the 3x3Hustle website for Basketball NSW’s upcoming events, which will be held once COVID-19 restrictions ease in New South Wales.
For now, 3x3Hustle encourages the NSW community to stay safe and continue to follow the latest health advice.
