3x3Hustle Teams Knocked Out Of FIBA 3×3 Ulaanbaatar Challenger
3x3Hustle teams Geelong Supercats and West Melbourne Stateside have been eliminated from the FIBA 3×3 Ulaanbaatar Challenger, after losing in the pool stages.
The Supercats impressed but couldn’t secure a victory, losing two narrow affairs to Ljubljana (21-17) and Utsunomiya (21-20 in overtime) in their pool stage matches.

Stateside also fell short in the pool stages, losing their clashes with Zemun (21-13) and Ulaanbaatar (21-18).
West Melbourne advanced to the main draw after dominating their two qualifying matches.
Establishing themselves as strong interior scorers, Stateside’s strength in that department powered them to a 21-15 win over Tsogttsetsii and a 22-17 victory over Changzhou.

Challenger events serve as play-in tournaments for World Tour Master events, with the Ulaanbaatar Challenger a pathway towards making the Saskatoon Masters in July.
3×3 basketball will make its debut as an Olympic sport in 2020 and a Commonwealth Games sport in 2022.
