3x3Hustle Australian Schools Championships Recap
The action was fast, physical and furious at this weekend’s 2019 3x3Hustle Australian Schools Championships, where four teams advanced to the NBL 3×3 Big Hustle National Championships in March 2020.
Taking place as a curtain raiser to the 2019 Australian Schools Championships at the State Basketball Centre, the 3x3Hustle tournament saw the best schools battle it out in four categories – U15 boys, U17 girls, U17 boys and U20 boys.
Newington dominated the U15 boys division, with Newington 1 defeating Newington 3 in the final, 14-7.
In the girls U17 category, Kilbreda College were too strong for John Paul College in the final, winning 16-9.
Southport took out the U17 boys title, taking down Gilson College 15-9 in the final.
The U20 boys final was the closest decider of the day, with Good Shepherd overcoming John Paul College 14-10.
Newington 1 (U15 boys), Kilbreda College (U17 girls), Southport (U17 boys) and Good Shepherd (U20 boys) have now advanced to the NBL 3×3 Big Hustle National Championships in March 2020.
