NBL 3×3 Pro Hustle Series Begins in Melbourne

The NBL 3×3 Pro Hustle series will begin in Melbourne on Sunday, with Docklands hosting the first games featuring a star studded lineup of teams that feature Olympians, NBL and WNBL stars, as well as one of the AFLW’s best.

The Pro Hustle’s will be the first professional 3×3 events in Australia, with $10,000 on the line for the winner of each category across the three competitions with the first two taking place at Docklands Studio in Melbourne on April 22 and May 6, with the final event held at a location to be confirmed.

Monique Conti, the AFLW Grand Final Best on Ground winner for the Western Bulldogs will suit up alongside Maddie Garrick, Chloe Molloy and Jasmine Simmons as members of the Melbourne Boomers WNBL team.

In the Open Men’s category 500-game NBL veteran Oscar Forman will team up with former Portland Trail Blazer and Chicago Bulls big man Luke Schenscher.

London Olympian Australian Boomers guard Peter Crawford and another NBL veteran in Anthony Petrie will team up to try and take home the prize.

The iAthletic team will include the #1 ranked 3×3 player in Australia, Andrew Steel, alongside two-time NBL championship winner Tommy Greer who showed they are a force to be reckoned with winning the South Australia, ACT and Victorian Big Hustle events already.

Recently named to the 2018 FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup team, Sydney Kings big man Tom Garlepp teams up with brother Josh Garlepp in a Bears lineup that won their way through by taking out the Sydney Big Hustle competition.

Fans can get down and check out all the action with food trucks, DJ’s, dunk contest, three-point shootouts and giveaways while the best of the best in 3×3 basketball battle it out for money and recognition.

The 3×3 Pro Hustle launches with key partners Wilson, First Ever and CMS Australasia.

The events will also be live streamed through the NBL’s digital platforms from start to finish for fans who can’t make it down.

The Pro Hustle events are crucial as the 3×3 game continues to take Australia and the world by storm leading into it’s debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.

FIBA 3×3 Ranking points from these events will go towards Australia’s qualification for the Olympics as well as individual athletes fighting their way into the squad.
