United Take Down Phoenix In 3x3Hustle Exhibition Game
NBL fans got a teaser of the upcoming inaugural ‘Throwdown’ on Saturday, when Melbourne United battled South East Melbourne Phoenix in a 3x3Hustle exhibition game.
The game took place on the big stage of Marvel Stadium, before the Australia Boomers’ historic win over USA Basketball.
United rolled out a strong squad full of NBL20 contracted players in Sam Short, Sam McDaniel, Jack Purchase and Jo Lual-Acuil, while the Phoenix had a mix of contracted and training players with Deng Acuoth, Ben Ursich,
The United team proved to be too strong for the Phoenix, taking out the victory 18-13, with new signing Lual-Acuil impressing with his length and athleticism.
