The second event in the NBL 3×3 Pro Hustle series goes down in Docklands this Sunday after getting started last month with The Platypuses team comprised of Anthony Petrie, Peter Crawford and Jeremy Kendle claiming the $10k in prize money while Bec Cole’s Spectres iAthletic team did the same in the women’s category.

The Platypuses will be out to repeat, and they’ve levelled up their squad for the Pro Hustle 2. While Kendle is unavailable, they’ve bolstered their team with the addition of newly re-signed Adelaide 36ers guard Anthony Drmic and former Australian 3×3 representative Lucas Barker.

After being unavailable for the first event, 3×3 Asia Cup gold medallists Tom Wright and Andrew Steel return to the Spectres-iAthletic team who are expected to pose a significant challenge to The Platypuses with SEABL stars Simon Conn and Dain Swetalla also in the squad.

With Oscar Forman unavailable and Luke Schenscher out with injury, the Townsville Thunder team have brought in SEABL star Deba George and Lamar Mallory to suit up alongside Tim Keating.

The dark horse comes in Diamond Valley who are suiting up former New Zealand Tall Blacks forward Dyson KingHawea and Chris Camps, and import for the club in the SEABL.

The women’s final was one of the best games from Pro Hustle 1, and the girls are expected to give us plenty more highlights with the Deakin Melbourne Boomers duo of Maddie Garrick and Monique Conti out to go one better after falling to Spectres iAthletic.

The iAthletic team will be without Bec Cole due to an injury, but they’ve added WNBL star Alice Kunek in her place making them a definite favourite to take home the prize money once again with Marena WhittleHanna Zavecz and Izzy Chilcott.

After Tom Garlepp won Australia gold at the 3×3 Asia Cup, his wife and former WNBL star Renae Garlepp is trying her hand at the fastest growing urban sport in the world with a team comprised of North Sydney Bears players from the Waratah League.

Diamond Valley have sent a team that includes WNBL star Chevannah Paalvast who is coming off a gold medal at the 3×3 Asia Cup last week as a member of the New Zealand team. She’ll also have Canberra Capitals big Lauren Scherf inside giving Diamond Valley strong play all over the court.

The competition has also drawn the Dandenong Rangers in, with a team headlined by Tayla Roberts and a former Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence duo in Rebecca Pizzey and Kiera Rowe
