Australia Finishes Fourth In FIBA 3×3 World Cup
Australia finished fourth at the 2019 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, after losing twice on the final day of the tournament.
The team of Bec Cole, Alice Kunek, Maddie Garrick and Keely Froling faced China in a thrilling semi-final, where the Aussies lost a heartbreaker in overtime, 15-14.
In what will go down as one of the tournament’s best games, Australia trailed by three points inside the final two minutes. However, a late scoring charge from Cole and Kunek, and a stunning defensive display from Froling, saw Australia send the game to overtime.
A tense overtime period ended when China were able to score the game winning basket, which led to both side’s displaying a sea of emotion on the court.

In the third placed playoff game, Australia were outplayed by France, who took home the 21-9 victory.
