The road to Manila is officially underway. The first Australian stop of Red Bull Half Court 2026 took over Herb Graham Rec Centre on September 20th, and four teams walked away with a spot at the World Final. Perth’s best packed the courts for a day of fast, physical 3×3 where every possession counted.
In the men’s draw, HoopWitEm and Mixed Bag booked their place after strong runs through the bracket. HoopWitEm continued their dominance in the west, having won the Perth Qualifier for the past three years and played in the Red Bull Half Court World Final in New York in 2024, with an all-NBL1 line-up of Nicholas Floyd, Luke Phillips, Rowan Mackenzie and Damien Scott. Mixed Bag, led by Australian 3×3 team member Joshua Davey alongside NBL1 players Mitch Fenton, Malakye Cunningham and Kai Kabugua, also secured their spot.
On the women’s side, Heat Check, featuring NBL1 players Brooke Malone, Emma Strelein and Denae Civich alongside college player Bella Green, claimed one of the two qualifying spots, while Land Down Under, an all-NBL1 squad of Samantha Roscoe, Laniesha Paddon, Amber Land and Tahlia Kelly, took the other.
All four teams now head to the National Final in Sydney on October 18th, where Australia’s champions will be crowned. The winning men’s and women’s national champs will represent Australia at the World Final in Manila, Philippines, on December 5th, with national champions from 13 countries set to compete.
Next stop: Melbourne
The action now moves to Victoria. The Melbourne qualifier tips off on October 4th at Citizens Park, Richmond, with more spots at the National Final up for grabs.
The tournament is open to teams of 3–4 players (3 players and 1 sub), and all players must be 18 or older. Spectators are free to attend and no tickets are required.
