From Thursday, March 28 to Monday, April 1, the Big Hustle Junior Nationals and Scarborough Beach Slam will take place, with action-packed basketball over the course of five exciting days.
The Big Hustle Junior Nationals start on Thursday with pool rounds being played at Stirling Leisure – Herb Graham Recreation Centre in Mirrabooka, and with the Finals taking place on the Saturday at Scarborough Beach Precinct.
The Beach Slam, held at the Scarborough Beach Precinct will offer three days of 3×3 tournaments for Opens and Juniors, dunk comps, NBL & WNBL player appearances, and more basketball activations for the community to enjoy.
“We’re excited to bring a 3x3Hustle Beach Slam to the City of Stirling. Scarborough Beach is the perfect location for families to enjoy the game of basketball with an electric atmosphere by the beach,” Head of 3x3Hustle, Jaele Patrick said.
“We also look forward to bringing the best 3×3 athletes into WA to play in the National Championships at Herb Graham Rec Centre and then showcasing all that is 3×3 basketball by the beach for the National Championships Finals and Beach SLAM.”
City of Stirling, Mayor Mark Irwin said: “The City is proud to play host to yet another national championship event, which showcases the investments we have made in top-level facilities and our iconic Scarborough Beach event and tourism precinct.
“The 3×3 events will transform the Scarborough Beach Amphitheatre and precinct into a vibrant and exciting outdoor basketball festival, with a mix of professional competition and community participation activation over five-days.
“We are especially pleased that some of the heats will be held at Stirling Leisure – Herb Graham Recreation Centre in Mirrabooka. The Big Hustle national finals competition will be held in Scarborough, which we want to establish as the natural choice and home of major sporting festivals.”
