3x3Hustle Licensee: Royals Basketball Building Strong Foundations in the Game
Now in its third year as a licensee with 3x3Hustle, Royals Basketball is committed to developing a foundational understanding of 3×3 basketball.
This fast-paced format emphasises core skills in a half-court setting, providing an exciting and effective way to learn the game. Players not only gain hands-on experience but also earn FIBA points while playing up to four 10-minute games each week. The first two rounds focus on teaching the basics of 3×3 play, while the next eight rounds feature competitive games over a 10-week period.
Located in the heart of Blacktown, Royals Basketball has established a 3x3Hustle Junior League, an inclusive program open to players of all backgrounds—not just Royals club members. This initiative is helping to grow the local basketball community, equipping players with valuable skills that can be transferred to the full-court, 5×5 game while promoting the exciting, fast-paced nature of half-court play.
Through this program, young athletes—boys and girls alike—have the opportunity to improve their game and develop a deeper understanding of basketball.
Marinette, Managing Director of Royals Basketball states, “We (Royals Basketball) encourage players who have been able to learn the 3×3 rules through this process, to then go on to compete in the stand alone events offered by other Licensees throughout the school holidays.
“In that way we are all working together to grow grassroots of 3×3 Basketball within our communities.”
